Gratitude Friday, Strength & Flow

Born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia, I came to the U.S. in 2001 for film school. After many years in the film industry, the job’s stress sent me on a quest to find a balance, and that quest ended on a yoga mat. After trying out many different classes, I found the right style of practice at Core Power Yoga. Their Baptiste style yoga spoke to the transformation I was looking for at that time in my life. The impact of the practice was remarkable; I believed the next natural course for me was teacher training so that I could share my passion and practice with the world.

To make my vision a reality, I founded Light of Day Yoga (now Yogarini), an affordable, community class to make yoga more accessible and available for everyone. It was only the beginning of my teaching journey with several different studios and companies, including Under Armour/FX Well where I am now a Fitness Specialist.

I teach Power Vinyasa Flow Yoga with the emphasis on power and flow. I see yoga as a relationship between the body and the being (the soul, the mind, and the heart). With non-judgmental and compassion centered classes, students will flow in a powerful, playful, and authentic class to connect the tangible and intangible parts of our bodies.

My mat is my happy place. But stepping off my mat to guide students, bringing transformation into their life through yoga, is where I find the most gratitude, joy, and humility. My class is music based, with a carefully thought sequence to set my class’ participants for success.

I also teach yoga for kids, chair yoga, yoga with weights, and lead wellness siminars as well as meditations.
