Debbie Hughes
Barre, Body Sculpt, Kickboxing, Pilates
I have been teaching fitness since 1982 and I’m loving every minute of it! As someone who grew up with dance and movement in my life, it was a perfect addition into my full-time, desk job working adult life.
Teaching classes after work and on weekends got me hooked. In 1986, as a part-time job, it carried me through three pregnancies and gave me the opportunity to be home with my girls. I never gave up the desire to teach, learn, and grow in the fitness industry. This industry is always evolving and so did I, training in Step when it hit the market, aerobics, weight training, kickboxing, indoor cycling, senior fitness, Beyond Barre, and the biggest of all….Pilates. I. Love. Pilates. I use it’s philosophy, which is now deep in my body, mind, and soul, in everything I do and teach. It’s functional fitness all wrapped up.
Sharing what I’ve learned with members and personal clients has been very fulfilling. But better yet, what they have taught me is even more invaluable. I learned how to take what I know and apply it to each individual’s, or group’s, physical needs and work with them to gain strength, balance, confidence, joy, and accomplishment. Always researching to improve what I can offer brings me joy.
When I am not teaching, I am enjoying life with my retired husband, travel when possible, gardening & lawn mowing (yes, Laura and I do the yard!) AND…..enjoying grandma life! I have two grandsons who live locally and will be blessed with a 3rd grandchild in December!
